Looking to the Stars: Matariki is here

Kia Ora everyone.

Got any plans to celebrate the Matariki festival this year? The Maori New Year is uniquely Kiwi. Celebrations are carried on throughout the country in June - the beginning of the new year - a new cycle of life and a time to reflect on the previous year. It's a timely reminder to take stock, and look ahead to new opportunities.

Project K

Reflecting on our past year - a personal highlight for Sophie and Susie at 99 HQ has been the recent graduation of the Project K kids that we have each mentored for a year long project. Project K offers a fantastic experience for kids and mentors alike. Seeing the teenagers emerge from the programme with flying colours and bright futures is a massive reward.

Check out the Project K programmes operating near you www.projectkhb.co.nz is the Hawkes Bay link. Project K operates in parts of NZ.

Make Technology Do the Work.

Speaking of looking ahead - does your business make the most of today's technology? Are you a Digital Native or just a plain old dinosaur...99 Health Warning: remember what happened to the dinosaurs. Getting up to speed with current technology and making it work for you is imperative to survival in this age. So where do you fit - do you keep your client records in a plastic bag of invoice books, or are you a whizz bang computer savvy expert?

Here's a very simple plan - build yourself a database of your clients and here you have a launching pad for so much information for your business. Anything from details of the last piece of work you did for them, to when you last contacted them, to when you want to do next.. the sky's the limit, and it's a fantastic way to stay organised and focused. The databases we build for people range from simple lists to be used as is, or they may be plugged into our clients more sophisticated customer relationship systems.

Or do you just want to keep in touch with clients, building up customer retention and loyalty. A regular email newsletter to your database of clients and potentials is a cost effective, simple hassle-free way to communicate. We can help build your list, or phone these people to get the ok to receive ongoing communcation from you.

So even if your sales conversions are down at the moment, keeping in touch with valued clients and continuing to build up valued relationships will ensure that its your business name at the top of their list when the purse strings are opened.

Remember your business is our business; we want you to operate at your optimum. Talk to you next month.

Sophie, Susie and the team at 99.
